PCORI-Funded Study to Compare Broad, Narrow-Spectrum Antibiotics

Jeffrey S. Gerber, MD, PhD, recently received an approximately $1.8 million contract from the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) to compare the effectiveness of broad and narrow-spectrum antibiotics in treating acute respiratory infections.

Why Can Commensal Organisms Cause Infections?

Duke Researcher, CHOP Alum Named Physician-in-Chief

Noted microbiologist and Children’s Hospital alumnus Joseph W. St. Geme, III, MD, was recently named CHOP’s Physician-in-Chief and Chair of the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Pennsylvania.
